Legal Geek Conference 2017

Juro has won the 2017 Legal Geek Start Up Award following a competitive pitch process held on the sidelines of today’s Legal Geek Conference, which saw more than 1,000 delegates gather in East London to discuss the foremost matters of the day in the disruptive sector of LegalTech.

Juro, an artificial intelligence- (AI-) enabled contract management platform, was competing against a shortlist of seven other start-ups, all of whom feature on the Legal Geek Start Up Map.

The judging panel comprised of Legal Geek Conference sponsors Freshfields, Thomson Reuters and The Law Society.

F-LEX, the on-demand legal service for paralegals, was voted as runner up.

Richard Mabey, Co-Founder and CEO of Juro, said:

“We are thrilled to win this award, alongside some great competition. This year’s conference was even better than last year’s. It was especially pleasing to see that people are talking less about what could happen in Legal Tech and more about what is happening right now – Legal Tech is taking off.”

During the one-day conference, delegates and the wider Law Tech community generated more than 3,000 tweets delivering a social media reach to 2.5 million individuals, whilst the #LegalGeek hashtag trended on Twitter throughout the day.

Legal Geek Founder Jimmy Vestbirk said:

“Whilst everyone in the final eight of the Legal Geek Start Up Awards deserves a massive congratulatory pat on the back, it’s Juro who earn the high fives. They’ve had a spectacular 12 months.

“This year’s Legal Geek conference is just another example of how the Legal Tech sector continues to disrupt the legal industry, and make improvements to it.

“Today’s event was twice the size of our inaugural edition in 2016 and that is all due to our members far and wide who continue to invest their time to meet and network with each other, swap ideas, and drive LegalTech forward.”
