Mark Cohen, CEO & Founder of Legal Mosaic

A Legal Geek MC and CEO & Founder of Legal Mosaic, Mark Cohen, is a seasoned writer, speaker, global legal market consultant and now the MC of our headline stage at this year’s Conference! Having cut his teeth as a practicing civil trial lawyer, Mark has spent the last 15 years providing strategic advice to corporate legal departments, law firms, legal service providers, legal networks, entrepreneurs, and law schools as the CEO of his legal business consultancy, Legal Mosaic. 

Mark has guest-taught at Harvard Law School, is a regular contributor to Forbes, and his work as a global law writer has been recognised by the American Bar Association as one of the fifty leading legal blogs in the world. Mark’s unrivalled and celebrated ability to demystify the more complex areas of legal tech and service delivery means he is the perfect MC for our headline talks this year!

Susan Acland-Hood: Legal Geek Conference 2019 Speaker

Susan Acland-Hood, CEO of HM Courts and Tribunals Service

We are thrilled to have CEO of the HM Courts & Tribunals Service and the Ministry of Justice, Susan Acland-Hood, as a headline speaker at this year’s Conference. Susan’s illustrious career in government will mean a rare and unique insight into the world of legal tech and data through the lens of the public sector.

Now leading up the delivery of services, strategy, and division for the MoJ, Susan was previously the Director of Enterprise and Growth at HM Treasury where she was responsible for policies on productivity, growth, business, infrastructure, exports, competition and markets, and for energy and transport spending. Susan has also worked extensively on home affairs and justice policy, both at Number 10 and in the Home Office.  

Susan Hackett, CEO of Legal Executive Leadership

Susan Hackett, CEO of Legal Executive Leadership, LLC in the US, is a highly sought-after legal speaker and will be closing our headline session at the 2019 Conference. A recognised law department change and leadership specialist, Susan applies her extensive experience, creativity, and in-depth knowledge of leading success practices to help her clients define strategic goals and overcome operational challenges. 

With close to 30 years in the legal game, Susan’s expertise ranges from creating agile teams to in-house data and tech applications, and helping corporate counsel and legal departments to focus on their distinguishable service strategies. 

Rob Martineau, co-Founder of TRIBE

Rob Martineau, co-Founder of TRIBE, will be opening the conference with his inspiring story of a lawyer who left law to run 1,000 miles and in doing so raised £300,000 to help stop child trafficking. He will be speaking about his journey which ended in him launching, TRIBE, the natural sports nutrition company. If there’s a speaker you should definitely have pencilled into your Conference schedule, it’s Rob.

Simon Davis Legal Geek Conference 2019

Simon Davis, President of The Law Society

Simon Davis is a Commercial Litigation Partner at Clifford Chance with more than 25 years’ experience of effective dispute avoidance and resolution. In July this year, Simon took office as the 175th president of the Law Society of England and Wales. 

In his coveted new post, Simon will be exploring the challenges and opportunities we face as a legal profession with factors such as Brexit looming on the horizon, and will join us at this year’s Conference to discuss how tech and innovation can – and will – play its part.

Mari Sako, Professor and Director of Diploma for Saïd Business School, University of Oxford

Mari Sako’s main areas of expertise include global strategy, comparative institutional analysis, outsourcing and offshoring, and professional services. Mari’s outstanding work on business services in the UK has attracted the interest of UK policy makers. Her research on the globalisation of legal services and its impact on the professions has led to her becoming member of the UK Legal Services Board Research Strategy Group, and member of the advisory board of Thomson Reuters Legal Executive Institute.

We are thrilled to have Mari join us at this year’s Conference, where she will be joined on stage by Bill Deckleman and Dan Reed in our first interview-style session of the Conference.

Bill Deckleman, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of DXC Technology

As Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, Bill Deckelman serves as principal counsel and advisor to DXC Technology’s senior leadership and the board of directors, with global responsibility for all legal, privacy, contracting, mergers and acquisitions, litigation and compliance activities, as well as government and regulatory affairs.

Bill is joining Mari Sako and Dan Reed on stage for what is set to be an extremely insightful, fast-paced and thought-provoking interview session with some of the best brains in the business.

Dan Reed, CEO of UnitedLex
